Portrait Package - 2

$600

This package includes up to 2 hours with me and 40 high-res digital files; location will be within the Cowichan Valley. It is designed for family sessions with more than 4 people, or for those who wish to spend more time with me and receive more photos.

FAQ

What should I bring to my family session?

You can never be too prepared!
Always pack extra clothing for the kids, even if it’s just for the ride home. Appropriate footwear is a must too. Think about the surroundings and what the kids might get into. If we're shooting close to a lake, for example there's a good chance they might get their feet wet. Snacks/water are always a great idea. Quite often if a little one is very cranky, a snack break helps! A favourite toy, stuffie or blanket, even soother is great to bring as a backup (tucked away), if a meltdown is brewing. Bringing a large blanket that fits the family, to sit on, is a great idea as well. If possible, pack a neutral coloured blanket.

Where are you based and do you travel?

I'm based out of Lake Cowichan, but travel to various spots around the Cowichan Valley for photoshoots. I love discovering new areas too, so if you have an idea of a cool location for our shoot, please pass it along and I will check it out before our big day. I sometimes travel beyond my boundary for photoshoots, ie: Parksville, Port Renfrew, Victoria area, however a travel fee will be added to your session rate. Travel rates apply to any locations outside of the Lake Cowichan/Duncan/North Cowichan area.

When will we get our photos?

I will edit a portion of your final gallery about a week after the photoshoot so that you can get a jump start on sharing and printing photos. The complete final gallery is finished typically three weeks after the session. Instructions on how to download your files are sent at the time I email the link to your personalized gallery site.

What time is the best time to shoot at?

There is a reason why golden hour is so sought after by photographers. That soft, warm lighting is extremely flattering. Golden hour varies depending on the time of year. During summer months it can be fairly late, 7:30-8:30 p.m. or even later. If that doesn't work with your children's bedtime schedules, we can look for a location that might offer shade/treed areas to filter the light. I like to avoid mid-day photoshoots all together, in open areas with no shade coverage.
