Family Mini Beach Sessions, Port Renfrew

I decided some time during the winter I would love to offer a day of sessions in Port Renfrew in the spring/summer. Sometimes when I get these ideas, I don't always have time to follow through with them, or even sometimes the idea isn't as great as I thought. However, I did follow through and everything worked out so well that I am going to do it all over again next year, around the same time in June.

Newborn + Family Session, Baby Perri

I've known Leah for many years so it was amazing to reconnect with her and her beautiful family. The last time I visited their house I was capturing photos of now big sister Isla as a baby. Isla is now super spunky, high energy and hilarious and of course super cute. It was so cool to meet the newest addition, the cutest little bean Baby Perri.

Family Mini Spring Session, Maple Bay Manor

I snuck in Lori and her family for a Family Mini Session recently at the beautiful Maple Bay Manor. This time I utilized the forest and field and it didn't disappoint. Their daughter was so sweet and I loved all the snuggles, butterfly kisses and especially the love for baby in mommy's tummy, due to arrive soon! What a gorgeous family!

Family Mini Beach Sessions

I had so much sand in my car after these sessions, even in my hair! And I'm sure my clients did too. BUT it was so worth it. I had two families booked originally for mini sessions and they both requested beach photos, so I turned it into a beach day of sessions, even sneaking in a Motherhood (beach) Session with a great client of mine and her boys.

Motherhood Minis, Night Song Farm

If you know me, or you follow me on social media, you will FOR SURE already know I love photographing flowers. So, naturally Night Song Farm (a beautiful floral farm in Glenora with hundreds of varieties) has been on my list of locations to shoot at for some time. A friend who lives in the area actually told me about it and when I visited the first time, I was immediately drawn in to its quaint, but gorgeous atmosphere, especially the area as soon as you open the gate and walk in.

Spring Session, The Feltrin Family

The cutest, sweetest family award goes to..... these guys. OK well I always say all my families are the cutest and the best, but I truly mean it every time. Scarlett and Kurt and their girls are really great friends of ours and I was super excited to capture photos for them, especially since the girls are comfortable with me and know me so well.

Spring Minis, Maple Bay Manor

Maple Bay Manor has become one of my favourite places to visit. Not only is it gorgeous and looking pretty spectacular right now in its Spring glory (I would love to stay a night or two, or three...as a getaway), the owner Lynn is so cheery and nice. I captured two family mini sessions recently at the manor (more sessions to come!) and had fun exploring the different scenes around the property.

Newborn Sessions, Lifestyle with a Fine Art Twist

When I first began my family photography journey, I made a goal for to educate myself once every winter. Last year I took an online photography course by one of my inspirations (Twyla Jones). This year, I put a call out to expecting mothers willing to let me come by and photograph their sweet babies in return of some free photos. I called this education by experience.

Newborn Session, Baby Ruby

I got the pleasure of meeting yet another newborn the other week, a sweet little girl named Ruby. First off, I love the name Ruby. I love classic names and Ruby is just so pretty, just as she most certainly is. And well, her brother (those eyelashes!) was a bit of a ham and he showed off his real gentle big brother moves

Newborn Session, Baby Albany

What a sweet and gorgeous baby, little miss Albany. What lucky parent!. She's also very lucky as well, having an amazing mom and dad like Marley and Warren. Although this gal didn't sleep a wink when I was visiting her home, we were still able to capture some more portrait style photos. I love textures and greenery, hence the bouquet and my excitement when Marley pulled out a gorgeous crochet pink blanket that matched the orchids in the bouquet.

Newborn Session, Baby Amayah

I felt so lucky this month. I got to meet, snuggle and capture so many newborn photos, including this more lifestyle-inspired session with this beautiful baby girl. You can certainly feel the love in these photos her mom and dad share for their brand new baby and each other. This baby girl is gorgeous! Thanks to Becky and Terry for allowing me to capture this beautiful time in your lives and in the comfort of your own home. Baby Amayah is the perfect Christmas present.

Winter Minis, Bird's Eye Cove Farm

Let me start this post by saying how lucky I am to have had such great clients and fun kids for this year's Winter Minis. I had eight families (almost 20 children) all in one day. I was worried it would be hectic, however this year I asked my amazing cousin to tag along with me and that sure made a huge difference having her helping (so big THANKS to Leah).

Fall Minis, Maple Bay Manor

Many photographers have been talking about how vibrant the colours have been this Fall. It's true the pigment in the leaves has been so rich which I have been very thankful for, especially looking through the images of this year's Fall family mini sessions. Fall is a time of the year where I often remember to feel and voice my thankfulness more often.

Newborn Sessions, Baby Hattie

I got the pleasure to photograph little miss Hattie twice. I captured her first at the hospital for a Henry meets Hattie shoot where basically I snuck in quietly to their room, said my hellos and congrats and then hung out in the corner until her brother Henry arrived with his grandma and just snapped away as he met and snuggled his baby sister for the first time.
