This year marked my third year offering family sessions at the Cowichan Valley Lavender Farm and Labyrinth on Wicks Road in Duncan. I fell in love with the farm the first time I visited it and I got really lucky to get to know the owners, who are extremely nice and outgoing people. Each year I take some photos of the lavender and their kids for them as well. This year, I decided to cut back on how many families I would take on for these lavender sessions.Read More
It's been yet another amazing year where I've been lucky enough to capture so many families, some new ones and lots of returning clients as well as friends and family. Through this journey I've learned so much and I've been feeling rather reflective lately about the job of a photographer.Read More
Many photographers have been talking about how vibrant the colours have been this Fall. Let me start off by saying I think it's a pretty special job to be hired to capture a couple's wedding day... the day they come together to say I do and commit to a lifetime of love and partnership surrounded by their friends and family. This summer I was lucky to capture three weddings (and I have one more small one still coming up).Read More
Bird's Eye Cove Farm is one of my favourite locations to shoot and so naturally I was excited when Kaleena asked if I could get permission to meet there for their family session. The owner told me it was the perfect time as the grass was still very long too, so between the grass, the beautiful sunset and their cute family, this session was a photographer's dream.
*Side note: sweet little Harper (the middle child) helped me take a few photos at the end including the very last photo in this blog post). How cool is that?!Read More
