Summer Minis, Lavender Farm Sessions

This year marked my third year offering family sessions at the Cowichan Valley Lavender Farm and Labyrinth on Wicks Road in Duncan. I fell in love with the farm the first time I visited it and I got really lucky to get to know the owners, who are extremely nice and outgoing people. Each year I take some photos of the lavender and their kids for them as well. This year, I decided to cut back on how many families I would take on for these lavender sessions.

Fall Minis, Maple Bay Manor

Many photographers have been talking about how vibrant the colours have been this Fall. It's true the pigment in the leaves has been so rich which I have been very thankful for, especially looking through the images of this year's Fall family mini sessions. Fall is a time of the year where I often remember to feel and voice my thankfulness more often.

Newborn Sessions, Baby Hattie

I got the pleasure to photograph little miss Hattie twice. I captured her first at the hospital for a Henry meets Hattie shoot where basically I snuck in quietly to their room, said my hellos and congrats and then hung out in the corner until her brother Henry arrived with his grandma and just snapped away as he met and snuggled his baby sister for the first time.

This summer I was lucky to capture three weddings (and I have one more small one still coming up).

Summer Session, Ellison Family

Bird's Eye Cove Farm is one of my favourite locations to shoot and so naturally I was excited when Kaleena asked if I could get permission to meet there for their family session. The owner told me it was the perfect time as the grass was still very long too, so between the grass, the beautiful sunset and their cute family, this session was a photographer's dream.

*Side note: sweet little Harper (the middle child) helped me take a few photos at the end including the very last photo in this blog post). How cool is that?!
